The planet is pushed forward from the web. If you put some thought to it, you will see that the world is now tied together through the internet. Before having the World Wide Web, people would do all communication through snail. It often took weeks to receive communication. We are now in a time where businesses flourish online. All it takes is a simple WordPress website and some WordPress plugins to start a net business. It is an era of premium WordPress themes and million upon millions of WordPress website, communicating and promoting product and services that were once only available from physical store fronts. The internet literally changed the way we buy and do business in the entire world.

This can be accomplished within a few hours. If an one era could be captured in history that defined a civilizations advancement in technology, the internet would be play a major role in that little piece of history. News from around the world can be piped through a live feed through the internet. Marches and protests are blamed on the power of social media sites. The internet has had a positive change in many societies around the world. Services and Blogs found on the internet allow people to broadcast their personal lives, share their dreams and state their causes.

In the same token there are those that would love to regulate the internet. For those that have always had the power to control, the internet is a scary place. They are unable to control it. They would rather have it regulated so it can be controlled. Yet to control the internet is to ruin the internet. It would break the very fabric it was created from.

If we see regulation seep its way into the interent, you can be sure to see businesses fail and the online world we know it reduced to just large merchant sites. A scenario of this nature would result in less online entrepreneurs, start ups or home businesses. Perhaps this the plan for those who wish to regulate?

Even the old brick n mortar companies would feel the negative affects. There will be many barriers these merchants will need to overcome to communicate overseas. It would be a domino effect in a very large way. Without studying the effects of regulation on such a large scale, regulation would most likely fail.

Trying to justify regulation based on a small percentage of unlawfulness does not supersede all the great things the internet has created and will still create in the coming decades. Along with the good their is a small part of the internet that is bad. Pirates, organize crime and other black markets prosper within the free open market. Yet to allow the minority to ruin the majority of good the internet has brought the world is not acceptable.

Coming from a time before the internet I can remember what it was like. And I would never want to go back to those times. The internet has made a considerable impact on my life. It increased my ability to generate income, learn new things and communicate with family and friends. It has also done these same things for millions of others around the world. There is not one life that has not been touched by the internet. And as the internet continues to evolve, there will be more great things to come.

China cabinet economist warns of "deflation" in 2012 (Reuters)

BEIJING (Reuters) ? China's headline consumer price index (CPI) is on track to fall on a month-to-month basis in the coming months and mark a year-on-year decline in the second half of 2012, a government economist said in comments published on Friday.

But to prevent such an outcome, China must make a bold shift in its monetary policy to support growth, wrote Wu Qing, a finance researcher with the State Council's Development Research Centre, in the think-tank's newspaper, the China Economic Times.

"China has corrected its excessive monetary policy tightening in the last quarter of 2011, but the speed and effort of turning-around are not sufficient," Wu said.

"A typical deflation will emerge" if policymakers do not take pre-emptive action, Wu noted.

Wu's comments showed that pressures from within Beijing are rising to force China's central bank to be more aggressive in relaxing its policies.

In December, China's CPI rose 4.1 percent from a year earlier and rose 0.3 percent from November.

At a routine State Council meeting chaired by Premier Wen Jiabao this week, Wen did not mention the general inflation in 2012 but said he wanted to see a pull-back of home prices and credit support for big infrastructure projects.

The People's Bank of China (PBOC) had announced a 0.5 percentage point cut in the required reserve ratio on the last day of November, but it has refrained from cutting the RRR further despite widespread market anticipation for such a move.

Zhang Chenghui, another researcher with the cabinet's think-tank, also wrote that the central bank should cut banks' required reserve levels "many times" in 2012 to ensure appropriate growth in money supply and bank credit.

"The market has a shortage of money, and there is great room for the PBOC to cut RRR further," Zhang noted.

The latest Reuters poll showed that economists expect the central bank to cut required reserves by 2 percentage points in 2012, or four cuts of 0.5 percentage point. If the poll results prove correct, banks would be required to put 19 percent of deposits at the central bank by the end of this year.

Over 30 vendors from the medical, education, health and wellness, and food sectors converged for the Mind, Body, Spirit Expo.? Students from the massage therapy program provided over 100 on-site chair massages and hosted a raffle for attendees to receive a complimentary 50 minute massage courtesy of the massage therapy program at the school?s on-site clinic.? The medical assisting program hosted free blood pressure screens in an effort to promote wellness and education regarding understanding of blood pressure and how to achieve and monitor a healthy one.

No. 19 Wisconsin beats Penn State 52-46 (AP)

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. ? Jordan Taylor scored 18 points, including a 3-pointer from the top of key with 1:44 left, to help No. 19 Wisconsin hold off Penn State 52-46 on Tuesday night for its sixth straight victory.

Taylor made six free throws over the final minute, helping the Badgers (18-5, 7-3 Big Ten) overcome an early nine-point deficit.

Trailing 40-38, Penn State (10-13, 2-8) missed on three tries to tie or take the lead. Jon Graham missed two foul shots before Jermaine Marshall misfired on a 3 and missed a layup after grabbing his own rebound.

Taylor took over from there with his clutch 3. He scored 13 of Wisconsin's last 17 points.

Tim Frazier led Penn State with 21 points.

Penn State coach Patrick Chambers wore jet-black Nike sneakers on the sideline, sporting a look like late Hall of Fame football coach Joe Paterno.

Six-foot-10 center Jared Berggren added eight points and 10 rebounds for Wisconsin, helping to get the offense going down low in the second half after his team struggled from the field early.

Berggren scored six of the Badgers' first eight points of the second half, before Taylor closed it out.

The much-anticipated point guard matchup with Taylor and Frazier got off to a slow start with the two combining for just nine points in the first half.

They seemed to go back-and-forth down the stretch in the second.

Frazier scored 17 points after halftime, often maneuvering in the lane around the Badgers' tough defense for mid-range jumpers or one-handed floaters. Wisconsin was allowing just 49.6 points per game on opponents' 36 percent shooting ? both NCAA lows.

Penn State shot 36 percent for the game but made just seven field goals in the second half, six by Frazier.

His jumper got the Nittany Lions within 40-38 with 3:36 left, setting up the stage for the potential late heroics by Graham and Marshall.

Instead, it was Taylor who stole the show ? as usual.

He finished 4 of 12 from the field but 8 of 10 from the foul line. He added five assists and three rebounds.

Ryan Evans added 11 points and six rebounds for the Badgers, who got a nice lift going into Saturday's showdown at against No. 3 Ohio State.

Marshall finished with 13 points, 10 in the first half. He scored six points during a 10-0 run to help Penn State build an 18-9 lead late in the first half.

It was Penn State's first home game since Paterno died Jan. 22 from lung cancer, a little more than two months after he was fired from the school in the wake of a child sex abuse scandal involving a former assistant coach. Paterno was never charged in the scandal.

A public memorial service for Paterno was held on the same Jordan Center court on Thursday.

Chambers and his coaching staff were already scheduled to wear sneakers Tuesday night as part of Coaches vs. Cancer awareness week. Chambers took it a step further in apparent honor of Paterno by wearing rolled-up khakis ? just like JoePa used to across the street from the Jordan Center at Beaver Stadium.
